Chain of Trust​

  • Sci Software Intermediate CA is the missing link between the installed Sci Software Root CA and the end-entity (server) certificates.
  • During the connection establishment, our server will provide your system with a set of certificates forming the complete chain: End-Entity Certificate → Intermediate CA → Root CA.
  • Important: It is sufficient for your system to have only the Sci Software Root CA installed and trusted. Trust in the Intermediate CA certificate is automatically inherited from the Root CA certificate.

Trust Status​

  • The Intermediate CA certificate is crucial for server verification, but its trust directly depends on the trust granted to the Sci Software Root CA.
  • If a connection reports a trust error, the first step is to ensure that the Sci Software Root CA certificate is correctly installed in your operating system's trust store.
